Kingsfold Vintage Rally 2005 Short Stories

International Rescue

Les Sheldon from Merstham near Redhill brought along his Lister D and found on Saturday it wouldn't start. After some further investigation it was found that the timing was out by a fair way, after resetting the timing, a start was reattempted. BINGO it started and ran for a few minutes, but suddenly stopped again.

After lengthy investigation it was found that the carb was loose, so a makeshift gasket was made by Andy Smith from a cornflake box that Les had in his camper van. After refitting the carb plus giving it a change of sparkplug the engine ran all weekend, a big thank you from Les to all who helped him, you know who you are.
