Around two years ago whilst at Shooters Hill (Woodlands Farm) I was approached and invited to take a display of stationary engines to Crossness on their Heritage Day to be stages in May 2004. My fellow committee member, Alan Ashby, worked on this as he lives earby. Unfortunately as time went on, a threat to the utilities of London was nade by possible terrorist attack on the modern facility surrounding the Victorian buildings. Which subsequently meant our display in 2004 had to be postponed. So ready for 2005 our discussions via Alan Ashby restarted, Michael Dunmow gave us a date for the Heritage day, which we then added to our events listings and forms were printed for the event.

We went to Crossness on the arranged day and with 16 engines including Jeff and his family members and enjoyed a fantastic day. Ideally we will be involved again in 2006 and many years to come. A great deal of interest was shown towards our display and we signed up some new members.
